PTA Subject Guide: Online Resources

PubMed is an extremely comprehensive online database offered by the National Institutes of Health. PubMed facilitates citation searching across MEDLINE, PubMed Central (PMC), and Bookshelf. Some full text is available.

PEDro is an online database based out of the University of Sydney. PEDro provides access to over 60,000 randomized control trials, systematic reviews, and evidence-based clinical practice guidelines. Note that "physiotherapy" is commonly used outside of the US in reference to "physical therapy."

Google Scholar is an online academic search engine designed to index scholarly sources, citations, and other resources. Google Scholar can provide full-text options for some resources.

Founded in 1921, this is a professional organization for physical therapy workers. It includes resources on continuing education and physical therapy advocacy.
