Battle of the Books: Bracket

Participate in the Battle of the Books! 

16 popular books are going head-to-head. Vote on your favorites and see how far they make it through the bracket. Can you guess which book will win the ultimate prize? 

Make Your Predictions

Stop by the Library anytime March 3-7 during open hours to fill out a bracket and make predictions on the winner of each match. PRIZES will be available at the close voting for the students with the closest predictions. Winners will be contacted via email. 

Voting for the tournament will officially open on March 17 and close on March 26. The winning book will be announced on March 27. All CMU students, faculty, and staff can participate by voting for their favorite book in each match. See "Schedule of Rounds" and "Ways to Vote" for more details. All of the books in the tournament are available at the library in print, DVD, audiobook, or eBook.

Schedule of Rounds

• Monday, March 17: Round of 16 (First four matchups)
• Tuesday, March 18: Round of 16 (Remaining four matchups)
• Wednesday, March 19: Quarterfinals (First 2 matchups)
• Thursday, March 20: Quarterfinals (Final 2 matchups)
• Friday, March 21: Semifinals 
• Monday, March 24: Championship voting begins
• Wednesday, March 26: Championship voting closes
• Thursday, March 27: Winner Announced

Ways to Vote

1. Social Media: Follow Smiley Memorial Library on Instagram or Snapchat to vote on each round through our stories. 
2. In person at the Library: If you do not have social media accounts, you can also vote in person at the Library. A station will be set up near the front desk.
