Smiley Memorial Library proudly houses both the University's Archives and Special Collections, and the Archives for the Missouri Conference of the United Methodist Church.
Both Archives are open by appointment. To make an appointment, please either contact the Assistant Director and Access Services Librarian, Jennifer Parsons (660-248-6309, jparsons@centralmethodist.edu) or the Missouri Conference Archivist, John Finley (660-248-6240, jfinley@centralmethodist.edu).
: Smiley Memorial Library uses Omeka.net to create digital exhibits of material in the Archives. Subjects include our Navy V-12 program during World War II, Stedman Hall of Science's 2017 renovation, and our most popular exhibit, Homecoming.: Digitized material from our Archives and Special Collections is now available to the public, and can be searched for on JSTOR. This link goes directly to the Archives' collection.: Ambassador Kubisch (class of 1942) was a Special Negotiator for the United States. A listing of his papers, many of them declassified, can be found at this link.: As a direct result of a Historical Records Grant, Smiley Memorial Library was able to have editions of Central Methodist University's annual yearbook, The Ragout, scanned for future generations to use.
