Mission Statement (Adopted 8/22/23): Smiley Memorial Library seeks to be an essential part of student, faculty, and staff success at Central Methodist University. To support our users’ informational needs, we strive to offer academically relevant resources and services, support information literacy and scholarship, and maintain a welcoming and inclusive space for all our users. Whether on campus or online, we seek to promote research, discovery, and lifelong learning throughout the CMU community.

Happening Now: Battle of the Books March Madness Event

For the entire month of March, the Library will be hosting a March Madness tournament... library style! Sixteen popular books are going head-to-head. Fill out your brackets, vote on your favorites, and see how far they make it through the bracket. Can you guess which book will win the ultimate prize? Prizes will be available to students with the closest predictions. Voting will occur at the Library or through the library's social media accounts. Visit the Battle of the Books page to learn more.
